#SisterSirensSaysSizeShamingSucks#SisterSirensSaysSizeShamingSucksWhat does the phrase "Body Positive" mean to you?
Embracing all body types and celebrating our differences!

Why is performing important to you?
As a professional performing troupe, we love showing that anyone can do what we do. There is no age or size limit. Just dance!

What was it about your chosen art form that drew you?
You do not need to be the perceived social standard of beauty to be a performer. No matter what the performance media is in, if everyone looked the same and did the same moves in the same costuming it would be extremely boring. Diversity in performers means diversity in performances.
We love how we can change who we are with a costume or a song or an event theme. We are called Progressive Fusion because you never know what we are going to do next!

What has your journey to body positivity been like?
Since 2006 we have been an ever evolving troupe of many ages, body shapes, personalities and skill. We are a very close group of women who celebrate each other both in and out of the dance. There is no shaming, just encouraging.

We all have our personal journeys, but as a troupe, we thrive on love!!

Well, that and booze.

What, if any, impression(s) do you hope your audience walks away from your performances with?
DAMN THEY ARE FANTASTIC!! I WANT TO BE JUST LIKE THEM!

Sister Sirens are well known in the dance community for our sassy, snarky style and how close knit we are. We want the audience to have fun because we are having fun too! Watching us should be a relaxing romp that will put a smile on your face and have you thinking "Hey, I can do that too!"

What do you want people to know about your story as it relates to participating in this project?
Always evolve. Our style changes. Our troupe members change. Our costumes change. But it is our love for each other that gives us that drive to go out there and create magic.

Although, the sparkly things don't hurt either!
