Hello Photo Friends!
It has been several months since I've taken the time to sit down at the keyboard and type out a blog post. I have been up to my eyeballs in being a mommy to three boys (yes...three! I added one final cub to my brood since my last post.) and working to attract new clients and build my business. Let me catch you up briefly on what your friendly neighborhood photographer has been up to.
Last August, I had an opportunity to create a studio space. My goal is to one day photograph full-time, so with that in mind, I jumped on the opportunity to have a dedicated shooting space to invite my clients to. It's been a lot of hard work, but I'm finally gaining a little ground. I've been able to successfully maintain the space for a year now which has allowed me to continue to polish my work so I can continue to attract new clients. It's been stressful, but very exciting. I've just put up canvas samples in the space to celebrate surviving the first year and to showcase to my clients examples of what my work could look like on their walls.
I've always been a bit eclectic in my portrait focus, never limiting my subject matter to any one genre. Over the last year I have discovered a love and a growing talent for newborn, infant and maternity portraits. Having 3 babies in 2.5 years might be responsible for it, but I'm really enjoying photographing the first memories of so many families. Most of my babies have been firstborns which makes capturing these early days even more special. Although I still will photograph dancers and women...the under 1 crowd have become my new love and focus. #photographALLthebabies !
Now that Fall is upon us it's time to start shooting Fall and Holiday portraits. I've already started shooting Fall images. I'm working on a few mini-session events to hopefully include:
These events are in the planning stages. They will be one day only events, so space will be limited. If you're interested, keep an eye on my Facebook fan page for event announcements.
Here are some of the littles I've photographed over the last year. I look forward to meeting more littles and sharing them with you here.
